My name is Genti Korini. I am a visual artist, born and based in Tirana, Albania. My work operates as a linkage between painting, sculpture, photography, and video. My work is situated at half-distance between formalism and social commentary, on the to-and-from, between the real and the virtual, the physical and the digital of post-communist societies. It is hard to have a clear idea of how my work will be perceived in the viewers’ eyes. My greatest wish or hope is that they will be engaged with the work both visually and conceptually, emotionally and intellectually.
I think creating art changes every aspect of you as a human being. It creates a different portal of perceiving and relating to Life, I would say in a more meaningful way. I have a memory imprinted from my childhood. I was 13, and I read a book about the story of young Leonardo da Vinci. I was so fascinated by it and I still remember the bliss.
