My name is Tincuta Marin. I am an artist. I was born in Galati, Romania, and I currently live and work in Cluj. The image I grew up with is of my mother painting at her easel. For me, this was fantastic. I remember the smell of the oil, the wooden box full of colors, and her glass palette, cleaning the palette… that’s my favorite memory as a child.
In a world of digitalization and possible virtual realities, art has the power to shape your imagination. Art and painting are like a magic spell that reactivates our imagination, unlocks our dreams… I am a person in constant search. I like to consider myself more of a seeker than an “established artist”. I don’t like to limit myself only to painting. I also explore other areas of art, such as ceramics and sculpture. Literature and theatre are the moon and the sun in the sky of my painting. If I had to explain my art in one word, that would be “witchcraft” and aesthetic would be “magic.” All my characters are inspired by fairy tales, fantasy stories, or movies.
